Our Community

We are proud to work alongside the following leading organisations…

MyClearText provides high quality on-site and remote speech-to-text reporting for deaf people. Founded by Elaine McCarthy and Orla Pearson who both trained at the only full-time stenography course in Europe. What is Speech-To-Text? Using a stenography machine, writers can write up to 300 words per minute using a phonetic theory keyboard. The text is instantly translated and appears live on a laptop or big screen as subtitles.

B.S.L. Training is an acclaimed Deaf-led British Sign Language and Deaf Awareness training provider based in Maidstone, Kent. B.S.L. Training is passionate about bringing Hearing and Deaf communities together. All B.S.L. Training teachers are native British Sign Language users who also live in the Deaf world.

B.S.L. Community created by Deaf people for Deaf people; whose vision is to empower Deaf people through employment, workshops or one to one training and peer support.  By promoting Deaf Awareness in everything they do, they hope to close the gap between the Deaf and Hearing world. B.S.L. Community is a Community Interest Company, where profits are reinvested into the Deaf community in Kent.

We are also proud to sponsor our local deaf football team…

Tankerton Football Club Deaf Team

The Tankerton Deaf Team for under 6’s to under 12’s. Tankerton FC is a progressive club with an excellent reputation having been Kent FA Standard Charter Development Club of the Year for two years running before being awarded Community Club Status this year.  By having a specialist deaf team, it provides opportunities for the deaf children to come together to play and meet other deaf children of a similar age.  It also gives the parents and carers a chance to meet other people who have deaf children, share experiences, gain support and knowledge and reduce both the children and their isolation.
